Ann Gent and Graham Coles invite you to rummage

The Carningli Centre (Newport)

From the outside you can’t tell that the Carningli Centre is an art gallery and a second-hand book shop as well as a destination for lovers of old railway signage, collectors and connoisseurs of oil lamps and indeed anyone who loves to rummage amongst old things in search of a ‘find’. You’ve a chance of coming across anything from large pieces of old country furniture to cards designed by local artists.

About bookvolunteer

I'm passionate about books, about Oxfam and about making the world a better place. When I'm not filling the shelves in Oxfam Wilmslow, I might be found reading the books I've bought in the beautiful surroundings of North Pembrokeshire.

This is a real Aladdin’s Cave of a shop, isn’t it? I’ve always been interested in the books, first and foremost, but we have bought the odd artwork as well as an old GWR Refreshments sign. Long may they flourish in Newport!

  2. While I was taking photos Ann apologised that the shop wasn’t as tidy as she have liked and I didn’t quite find the right words to answer that it was tidy enough .. a bit of higgledy piggledy adds to the customer’s enjoyment, I think.
